Chapter 2 of this book helps the newly-wed couple understand the pressures on a new relationship.   Fore-warned = fore-armed.  
I'm going through a divorce (as I write this article) and his advice rings true.   The description of the "curve of marriage fulfillment" is "a descending inclining bend."  It's a clever description and I recommend this chapter in particular... plus the chapter is available as part of the Kindle excerpt that is available free...
